Despite the ongoing global chip shortage, Ford managed to post a significant increase in the number of vehicles delivered in the first half of the year in China
Ford sold more than 306,700 vehicles, 24% more compared to
last year’s figures. However, the shortage affected the Q2 sales, being 3.6%
lower year-over-year.
The company continues its efforts to push electric cars in
China, with Mustang Mach-E and ten new direct-to-customer EV storefronts.
So far, it’s been a challenging year for the American
company. Last month, it announced halting the production at its Michigan
factory because it lacked parts and curtail production at another eight
factories due to chip shortage.
Investors are now waiting for the company’s quarterly
earnings due on July 28.
After the news hit the wires, Ford stock price closed 2.99%
higher.
