The number of people who filed initial claims for jobless benefits dropped to a new post-pandemic low last week
According to the US Department of Labor, jobless claims fell
to 444,000 from last week’s 473,000. The figures came ahead of the 453,000
consensus.
The downward trajectory was set in motion mainly because the
country is administrating 1.8 million vaccine shots per day, which led to an
economic reopening across the States. From Federal Reserve officials’
perspective still, a lot must be done to improve the labor market.
At the moment of writing, USA30 and USA500 are trading 0.24%,
and 59% higher. The Dollar
Index is at 89.885.
