Microsoft beats expectations scoring $37.2b in the past quarter
One of the tech behemoths reported its quarterly figures, but
despite the promising results, Wall Street was immune to the news. Microsoft had revenues
of $37.2 billion in the past quarter, topping the $35.76 billion consensus. EPS
also came in with surprising numbers, as the markets were looking for $1.55 per
share, while the actual figures were $1.82/share.
Microsoft’s cloud computing service, Azure, brought a
revenue that came in by 1% higher than last year’s one. Overall, the service’s
revenue increased 48%.
Teams also reported an increase in daily users. From the 75
million daily users reported in April, now, the number reached 115 million.
As mentioned before, Wall Street wasn’t impressed by the
numbers. Following the report, Microsoft stock price lost 1.8%.
